Andrew is the founder and arguably the most valuable asset of The Van Man company. Having over 20 years worth of building and mechanic experience, he brings the team together to create and deliver a high quality product to his clients, while maintaining an exceptional standard for customer service. His lively personality ensures that the shop spirit is always high, keeping his team stoked and motivated to work together. As hard as he works, Andrew always makes time to get outdoors for a surf, sail, or backpacking trip.

Eric

  • Eric is an experienced builder, a crafty woodworker, and competent at all types of installations. Having built out his own van, he makes for a valuable asset to The Van Man Team. He loves to surf, sail, and spend summers salmon fishing in Alaska.

Garrison

  • Garrison has experience using design software, building out vans, and optimizing systems for max efficiency. He loves to surf, sail, and is committed to healing the planet through environmental work like reforestation.

Chris

  • Originally from Louisiana, Chris grew up doing a variety of construction jobs and contractor work. Having recently moved to the Central Coast, he has become passionate about surfing and exploring the beautiful outdoors.

Soren

  • With a degree in Mechanical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, Soren brings a wealth of knowledge to the team. He enjoys getting creative with personal building projects, playing guitar, and is an avid cyclist.

More About Our Founder

Founder, owner, designer, and builder, Andrew, was born and raised in the small town of Morro Bay on the central coast of California. Growing up home schooled, he had ample time to build tree houses, go-karts, and whatever else came to mind. After high school, he worked for John Deere and attended Reedley College for Diesel Mechanics where he worked on a variety of engines, tractors, and cars. This experience gave him the opportunity to develop a unique skill set that he could integrate with his building capabilities. Starting with trailers, and working his way up to vans, Andrew's creativity lead to him building out his own van. Realizing the amazing freedoms of a simplistic lifestyle where everything you need is right there with you, wherever you go, is something that he wanted to share with others, and born was The Van Man business. Andrew strives to provide the services needed for you to live the same dream!
